El Laboratorio de Óptica Cuántica de la Universidad del Valle será el anfitrión del X Encuentro Nacional de Optica. Como parte de este grupo de investigación, el CUVO dará un decidido apoyo a la organización de este evento. El CUVO planea organizar un encuentro latinoamericano de estudiantes de óptica como parte de este evento.
The Quantum Optics Lab from the Universidad del Valle will be the host of the X Optics National Meeting. As part of this research group, the CUVO will give a decided support to the organization of this event. We plan to organize a latinoamerican students meeting that will take place on the Optics National Meeting.

Pronto el CUVO hara parte de la Sociedad Internacional de Ingeniería Óptica SPIE. Hemos completado todos los requisitos para obtener su aval y estamos a la espera de la desición del consejo de membresía de la SPIE.
Soon CUVO will be also a part of the International Society of Optical Engineering SPIE. We are done on all the paperwork and we are waiting for the council to accept our petition.

El propósito del CUVO es el de promover la disciplina de la Óptica en la ciencia y la ingeniería a través del esfuerzo organizado en el estudio, la investigación y el debate. El CUVO trabaja por la divulgación del conocimiento en el campo de la Óptica y el desarrollo profesional de los estudiantes. El CUVO de apoya a otros estudiantes a formar nuevas asociaciones por el beneficio de la Óptica. The purpose of CUVO is to promote the discipline of Optical Science and Engineering through the organized effort in study, research, and discussion. CUVO works to disseminate knowledge of the field of Optics and to further the professional development of the students. CUVO encourage and helps other students to create new associations in the benefit of optics.
